An Afternoon with Casey Sherman – May 18th 4-6 PM
Please come join us to share a toast and a thank you to Casey Sherman.
You may know Casey as a bestselling author of the Finest Hours and his recently released book Animal: The Bloody Rise and Fall of the Mob’s Most Feared Assassin.
But to us he has always been a great friend to the House and collaborated on many of our enjoyable events including Bookstock. It will be a relaxed evening but perhaps we can nudge Casey to talk about his new book, and his upcoming projects for both film and novels. Copies of his books will be available for purchase.
We will not be charging admission but contributions will be kindly – and enthusiastically accepted. All friends of the Winslow House, come and enjoy.

“Joseph Barboza is the most dangerous individual known.”–FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, 1965
Joe Barboza’s brutal rise during one of the deadliest mob wars in U.S. history became the stuff of legend, both on the bloodied streets of Boston and in the offices of the FBI and the U.S. Attorney General. Betrayed by the mob, Boston’s most notorious contract killer forged a Faustian bargain with two unscrupulous FBI agents–a pact that would transform the U.S. criminal justice system.
About Casey Sherman:
An award winning journalist, Sherman gained international headlines with his re-investigation of the notorious Boston Strangler case. He later chronicled the case in his true crime bestseller A Rose for Mary and landed back on the bestseller list in 2009 with his sea epic The Finest Hours (co-authored by Michael Tougias). He has appeared on dozens of television programs including The Today Show, Dateline NBC, CBS 48 Hours Mysteries, America’s Most Wanted, and The View.
