SPECIAL EVENTS

Are you interested in having cocktails, dinner, and some fantastic conversation on the grounds of a historic estate? Does a reenacted colonial ball, town hall debate, or twilight tour of a centuries-old house tickle your fancy? If so, you’ve come to the right place! During the May- October season, the 1699 Winslow House will play host to many of these Special Events, averaging at least one per month.

Winter/Spring Special Events:

Pre-Season Cleanup– Friday, April 29th, 8:00 AM. Ever wonder how a historic house museum wakes up after the long, cold, winter? Come find out! We’ll be cleaning and organizing the 1699 Winslow House and grounds to prepare for a full season of lectures and special events. Please contact Executive Director Aaron M.  Volunteer Orientation Day- Saturday May 7th, 10:00 AM. Training for 2016 volunteers will be held at the 1699 Winslow House on Saturday, May 7th.  Backroads of the South Shore 12th Annual Symposium- Saturday April 9th, 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Harvesting Land & Sea: A History of Agriculture & Acquaculture on the South Shore 

The Spire Center for the Performing Arts, 25 Court Street, Plymouth Local historians present historical mini-lectures on South Shore farming and fishing, from the cultivation of the cranberry to the real experience of local lobstering. Sponsored by the Backroads of the South Shore, a local consortium of small historical societies and museums. $15 admission includes breakfast refreshments. Reservations recommended.  Progressive Dinner– Saturday, June 25th. Starts at 5:30 PM. The Winslow House Association is teaming up with the Marshfield Historical Society and the Daniel Webster Estate to bring you drinks, dinner, and desert at three of Marshfield’s most historic properties. Check back for more information.
