About the event
Jason Zimmer, District Supervisor for the MA Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, will give a presentation on the history of the Marshfield State Game Farm. Â In the 1890s, in an area south of the Ventress Memorial Library, was a 25-acre farm where ducks, geese, pheasants and qual were bred and raised as part of a program to propogate wildlife. Â For those who remember the game farm, it will bring back many memories. Â For those curious about Marshfield's rich history, this talk will be heavy on some really cool comparisons of historic and current photographs.
