Open House and Meet the Doctor

Join us for our Sunday Open House and take a docent-led tour of this important historic house.  As we meander through the first floor of the house, we just might run into 18th-century doctor, Sylvester Gardinerus (portrayed by Graeme Mardsen) hard at work in his office.  The good doctor would be happy to speak with you and answer questions about the particulars of medicine in the 1700s.  Was general anesthesia offered for surgeries?  Did physicians really "bleed" people who were sick?  How many people in Massachusetts died during the Small Pox epidemic?  Come find out the answers and bring your own questions!  Children are welcomed and encouraged to join us.
