About the event

The Fieldston on the Atlantic, later called The Rexicana or simply - The Rex - was a landmark in the quiet coastal village of Fieldston.

In 1925 Mr. Spang came to Marshfield with the idea of opening an entertainment complex.  His Field of Dreams mantra, "If you build it they will come" paid dividends.  Because come they did.  From 1927 until 1941 The Fieldston on the Atlantic welcomed thousands of guests.

This lecture is based on the recollections written by Joanne Henderson Jocelyn, whose 2 brothers, 2 sisters and father all worked at The Fieldston on the Atlantic.  Winslow House Association board member, Regina Porter will discuss that essay and add memories other people shared about their experiences at this Marshfield landmark.

Bring your own stories and memorabilia and we will take a stroll down memory lane.

A special thank you to Marshfield resident, Jack Iam, whose collection of historic postcards and photos will be used in the PowerPoint presentation.
