The Barn
The barn's framework is made of large, hand-hewn wooden beams, likely of oak or chestnut, with visible mortise and tenon joinery. The beams are weathered, showing tool marks from early settlers, and they create a high, open ceiling with a majestic sense of space.
The walls are built with rough, wide wooden planks, sometimes insulated with straw or horsehair, offering glimpses of the rough-hewn exterior between the boards.
The flooring consists of thick, wide planks, possibly pine, heavily worn over centuries of use. The wood shows the natural aging process with deep patinas, cracks, and a rich, warm tone. The boards may creak slightly underfoot, giving the sense of age and use.
