The Historic Winslow House has been awarded $4,000 in the second round of funding through the Massachusetts 250 Grant Program to support our Winslow 250 series. We greatly appreciate this opportunity from the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism.Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism.
Winslow 250, as fitting the history of the Winslow family at Careswell, will highlight the experiences of Tories, or Loyalists, during the War for Independence; the trials they experienced and family divisions in America's first civil war.
Massachusetts 250 was created to support the celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution, a crucial milestone that signifies more than two centuries of American independence and the lasting influence of the revolutionary spirit. The program aims to promote inventive projects that both educate the public and boost tourism and local economies. To be eligible for funding, projects must propose initiatives related to tourism or marketing strategies that highlight the historic themes of revolution and independence.
